its all vain,
no, so pick up your cane,
don't stop and complain
Listen and you'll stay sane

Why would it be,

Vain to rise early
and vain to stay up late

To eat the bread of sorrow
and have no rest for tomorow

won't you be dead... at that rate

Radio and TV, live out the dream
you're not the real winner,
although it may seam

Are you the one that
will win that million

or be the one working
with that guy with a billion

dont just sit complain,
gripe and moan

Don't dream someone elses dream
live the one your shown.

Why can't you see,
That which has been, is that which will be
That which is finished, is that which will be done,
and there is nothing new under the sun.

Another gerneration passes, another gereration comes

So Why would it be,

Vain to rise early

are you speaking with your enemies, in the gate

are you laboring in vain
like going insane
